A Strange Thing Going On So I'm Reposting

Blogger must be having their share of problems. The post I published on December 22 never showed up on Blogger but did on Google reader. I didn't send it to Google reader so I don't know how this happened.

Now onto the re-post!
Our guild only meets once in December because of the closeness of the holidays. At this meeting we had one of our potluck dinners. This is always fun because we get to sample other members' cooking. Desserts this time were mostly made of chocolate. Whoever said diamonds were a girl's best friend? Chocolate wins over diamonds every time!

Lots of quilting to share this time!

Our next quarterly block. It looks difficult but if you turn it on it's side, you'll see that it consists of four small shoofly blocks.

Pretty in pastels.

Fascinating!

Nice work Mary!

Donna's tee shirt quilt.

Appliqued blocks.

Cardinal table runner.

Serenity print.

Members also make items other that quilts.

Here's a unique neck pillow.

A very washable bib.

Cookie Exchange 2011

I have a couple of pictures to share with you in this post. Every year some of the guild members participate in an annual cookie exchange. This year 9 members enjoyed the festivities. We met at Elaine's house and were treated to a lunch of salad, macaroni and cheese and lots of coffee. Of course, we sat around discussing quilting (what else?). When it was time to leave we proceeded to exchange our cookies. Yum!

Ha! Gotcha!

This picture doesn't do justice to all our great cookie makers!

Which Meeting Was This?

I had to go back and do a correction on this post. I got so far behind on my entries that the last two meetings kind of blended together. I think this was the last meeting of November. I have only a few pictures from this meeting to share because I had to leave the meeting early that night. After I left a rollicking fabric game with fat quarters was enjoyed by the members.  Winner: Mary! Way to go Mary!
Awesome!
This is going to be a beautiful quilt!

Better Posted Late Than Never

I admit I have been very pokey about getting pictures posted from the last guild meeting and I offer my apologies. Please enjoy these pictures of our latest endeavors.

There are so many ways of varying the Carpenter's Wheel block. Here are a few of our latest Underground Railroad block.

More examples of our quarterly blocks. We're getting a nice variety.

These ladies are very prolific when it comes to making quilts.

The Meeting Place Was Hoppin'

At this week's guild meeting members participated in creating pillowcases assembly line fashion for residents of  Vera House. Vera House is a local shelter for victims of domestic violence. We've broken our past record with 54 pillowcases being produced in one meeting. We will be donating books along with these pillowcases to the mothers and their children.

The finished product.
Some of the members had their finished log cabin railroad blocks with them.

This is the next block we will be working on.
