More Railroad Quilt Blocks

Hi everyone! At our guild meeting last Monday we enjoyed a display and talk from members of a local quilt shop by the name of 'Mission Rose'. They shared some new tools and kits with our members. After their presentation, members were able to purchase their products. Afterwards we all enjoyed refreshments that our officers provided.

And of course there were more completed blocks for our railroad quilt to share.

Elaine, Roxanne, and Shirley

Still working on everyone's name. Laura is on the far right.

More names missing.

I apologize to our members for not remembering names. If any of you see this please let me know who I haven't acknowledged and I will correct the error.

September 12th meeting

Sharon has made an awesome quilt. Love the colors!

Didn't Debra do a nice job on her doggie quilt?

And here's Donna with these cute wall hangings!

Elaine has been knitting again. Besides making quilts, many of the ladies in the guild also are handy in other needlework and crafts.

We had our quarterly dinner last night at the guild. Face it girls, we are such good cooks! After our very enjoyable meal we had our show and tell. Not all the members were in attendance but most there had something to share.

Here's Mary showing us the next block we are doing in the Underground RR quilt.

 Nice work Debra!

Jane is trying to hide. She won the quarterly block contest. A block is chosen by a former winner each quarter. Guild members who want to participate have three months to make the designated block and hand it in. Then all the participants place their names in a drawing and one is announce as winner. The only catch is that the winner has choose a block to be completed in a future drawing.

Somebody is sleepy I see.

The colors Sharon has chosen for her block are so pretty!

This member got an honorable mention for a quilt she entered in the NY State Fair this year. She's promised to send me a picture of it. Stay tuned!

And the three blocks above were made by Susan who is also hiding from my camera!

A message for any of our members who find that I've left out any information: please let me know. I will be glad to edit and correct what is wrong.
