A Delightful Meeting

We started our latest meeting enjoying our quarterly dinner. I must say we are a great bunch of cooks as a variety of delectable dishes to choose from were shared. Members also contributed laundry products to the food pantry this month. Karen was the winner of the latest quarterly block drawing.

We had two featured members for this meeting. Both ladies are new to our guild this year. Our first featured member was JoAnn. She is a former teacher and also a cancer survivor. She found our guild through a display we had at a local library.

Our second featured member was Christine. she is the daughter of another member Carolyn T. Christine's mom taught her to quilt 10 years ago. Unfortunately she didn't have a quilted project to show us because she gives them away as soon as they are finished. But I'm sure we will have pictures of her new quilts to come.
The following block was an extra one chosen to add to our featured members' chosen blocks to complete our quilts.
Members shared their versions of the featured members' chosen blocks.

More Fun With The Guild Members

We're sorry but there was nothing to show from our last scheduled guild meeting in February. Our meeting was cancelled due to bad weather. However our first meeting of March was convened before the next storm took place.

Our featured member this week was actually two members...Ann and Barb, both former teachers.

Ann shared with us her many experiences as a teacher, wife, mother and grandmother. Ann likes to quilt and played the piano in her church for many years before retiring.
Barb played the organ in her church also for many years. A quilter, wife, mother and grandmother, Barb collects chipmunk motif items.

Because each had played instruments in their churches they selected blocks with a music theme.
