An Interesting Meeting

At our most recent guild meeting members shared antique sewing items that were handed down in our families.

However let me first introduce you to our featured member for this meeting. Debbie is a hard working mom and gramma. She works two jobs but still finds time to create and produce much sewing and quilting. As you can see in the following photos she had much to share.

After showing us the wonderful projects she has produced over the years, Debbie presented us with the block she chose for our members to make.
Next Ann shows off blocks chosen by featured members that she has completed.

Donna handed in the next quarterly block.
Finished projects our members shared:
Barb continues her knitting hats and...

...an afghan for the VA.

Carolyn B.'s crazy quilt runner

Sharon finished a UFO

A runner Donna created with leftover fabric from a quilt.

Another runner from leftover fabric.

Donna's wallhanging.

Ceil made this table topper from fabric NOT used in her son's wedding reception. :)

Sue's chevron pieced table runner

Sue's favorite type of project...another purse!
And finally members share interesting antedotes along with their antique sewing items.
One of the many items Barb shared...a book of needles. Great old advertising package.

Ann shared so many items along with this card of old thread.

A cloth tape measure is something you can't buy anymore.

Karen's mother's tatting shuttle.

Carolyn B. shred a whole box of goodies.
Sharon showed a much loved quilt that was made for her when she was a child.
Roxanne's great grandmother's (?) thimble.

Carolyn T. had a pointed buttonhole guide that was still on the card.

Mary showed us her mother's sewing box.
It was quite a antique show enjoyed by all of us quilters.
